Gratitude: The Secret Sauce for Success and Fulfillment

Gratitude isn’t reserved for Thanksgiving tables or thank-you notes; it’s the quiet yet powerful practice that lays the foundation for long-term success and fulfillment. In moments of chaos or challenge, gratitude has the ability to reframe our perspective, shifting our focus from what’s missing to what’s present.

I’ll never forget a time when life felt overwhelming—a season full of deadlines, uncertainty, and self-doubt. I decided to start a simple gratitude practice: each morning, I wrote down three things I was grateful for. They weren’t grand gestures; some days it was as simple as a good cup of coffee or a kind word from a friend. But that small act began to change everything. My mindset shifted, and I started noticing more of the good things happening all around me.

Your Action Step: Today, challenge yourself to text three people you’re grateful for. Let them know how they’ve impacted your life. Not only will it brighten their day, but you might just find it lifts your own spirits in unexpected ways.

Growth: Embracing the Growing Pains

Let’s be real—growth is rarely graceful. It’s awkward, uncomfortable, and often messy, but it’s also where the magic happens. Growth isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress, no matter how small or unexpected.

I think back to one of my biggest “growing pain” moments: the early days of running my first business, AMG. I was juggling more than I thought possible, fumbling through mistakes, and questioning if I was cut out for it. Yet, looking back, those were the moments that shaped me. They taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the power of learning as I go.

Your Action Step: Reflect on one unexpected moment of growth this year. It doesn’t have to be a huge breakthrough—it could be as simple as learning something new about yourself or pushing through a tough day. Growth is growth, no matter how small.

Grit: The Power of Perseverance

The 3 Power G's: Gratitude, Growth, and Grit, The Kristi Jones Show Podcast

If gratitude grounds you and growth stretches you, grit is what keeps you going when the road gets rocky. It’s the determination to stick with something even when it feels hard, uncertain, or downright impossible.

One of my favorite grit moments also comes from those early business days. There was a particular challenge—one that seemed insurmountable at the time. Yet, by showing up every single day, putting one foot in front of the other, and leaning on that inner resolve, I not only overcame it but came out stronger. Grit doesn’t always look heroic; sometimes, it’s simply refusing to quit.

Your Action Step: This week, give yourself a “grit challenge.” It could be tackling a long-overdue project, having a tough conversation you’ve been avoiding, or even sticking with a workout plan you’ve struggled to maintain. Whatever it is, remind yourself that perseverance pays off.
