Have you heard of the word Flawsome? I love that word! It’s kind of catchy and is a great way to acknowledge our flaws all while being awesome at the same time. Each of us is progressing at different stages, different speeds, and in different ways.

The Kristi Jones Podcast - Being Flawsome- A work in progress

In a culture that I feel sometimes focuses too much on being perfect…perfect life, perfect home, perfect this or that, it is helpful to take a pause, and ask ourself, who is the panel of people that decides what perfect is? I’ve not ever been much to worry about what the “they” group think perfect is or what “they” think of me or my life. I’ve kinda always walked to the beat of my own drummer as the saying goes. Let me encourage you….whoever the “they” are, I can promise you it is a panel of humans, and therefore, you can relax because there are no perfect humans. The “they” that attempts to define what perfect is, well….they are flawsome just like you and me!

RELATED: Hey Girl- Stop caring what they think and start living the life you want.

Being human means we are flawed and we err in our ways as nobody is perfect. How exciting it is to know each day we have the opportunity to wake up and try to be better than the day before! To learn, grow, make healthier choices for ourself or extend more love and compassion to others than we did yesterday are examples of us always being a work in progress.

We shouldn’t hate our flaws but instead realize it is part of being human. I think each of us have areas of our life where we want to make improvements and for some reason, we are always hardest on ourselves. Even in our route of making progress sometimes we have sidesteps or make mistakes. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Acknowledge the progress you are making each day and keep pushing forward in progress!

Whatever you decide to do in life, make sure it makes you happy

Remember, only you define what is perfection for your life. Maybe perfection isn’t even the word we choose to use. Possibly a better way to say it is, only YOU define what is true happiness, fulfillment, success, (insert the word you choose here) for your life because each of us is uniquely and divinely made. So today, give yourself a pat on the back for being flawsome and keep striving for your progress in the areas of your life that matter most to you.
