Life, much like the weather, can be unpredictable. Just when we think we’ve found our footing, a storm rolls in, threatening to upend everything we’ve built. But amidst the chaos and uncertainty, there is a way to remain steady in the storm.
Listen to the episode here:
Finding stability amidst life’s storms
When I was 32 years old I was told by my CEO that leaving the company I was with at the time would lead to failure. Those words could have easily shaken my resolve, but instead, they ignited a fire within me to prove otherwise. How did I find the strength to remain steady in the face of such discouragement? It all comes down to one thing: a firm foundation.

Imagine a house built on unstable ground. When the winds of adversity blow, it’s only a matter of time before the structure crumbles. But a house built on solid rock can withstand even the fiercest storms. Similarly, when our lives are built upon a strong foundation, we can weather any challenge that comes our way.
Harnessing faith as an anchor through challenges
For me, that foundation is my faith. There’s a still, quiet voice within each of us, a divine presence that speaks to our souls. Whether you call it intuition, inner wisdom, or the voice of God, it has the power to guide us through life’s toughest moments. When we listen to that voice and anchor ourselves in faith, we find the strength to remain steady in the storm.
But faith alone isn’t enough. We must also cultivate endurance, resilience, and a steadfast work ethic. When controversy arises and judgement rains down upon us, we can’t afford to waver. We must stand firm in our convictions, trusting in our ability to overcome adversity.
It’s natural to experience doubt and uncertainty, especially when faced with challenges that seem insurmountable. But as the saying goes, “a little bit of faith can move mountains.” Even when doubts creep in, we must hold onto that spark of belief and refuse to let the storm extinguish it.
So how do we remain steady when the winds of change threaten to blow us off course? We anchor ourselves in faith, we cultivate resilience, and we refuse to let fear dictate our actions. Like a sturdy ship navigating rough waters, we press on, knowing that the storm will eventually pass.
As I reflect on my own journey, I’m reminded of the countless times that God has been faithful to me in the midst of life’s storms. Each challenge I’ve faced has only served to strengthen my resolve and deepen my faith.
So, my friends, I urge you to build your life upon a firm foundation. Listen to that still, quiet voice within you, and trust in its guidance. And when the storms of life come rolling in, stand firm, knowing that you have the strength to weather any tempest that comes your way.
